FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What information from my HotJobs account will be transferred to Monster?
If you have consented, then the following information will be transferred from your HotJobs account to Monster, and will be subject to Monster’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Use:
  • Your employment profile data
  • All of your saved resumes
  • Your saved cover letter
  • Your five most recently modified job alerts
  • Any changes to your account or profile made after you've agreed to transfer your account information
What information will not be transferred to Monster?
All information and data you have with Yahoo! outside of HotJobs will remain with Yahoo! and continue to be subject to the Yahoo! Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. In addition, the following information from your HotJobs account will not be transferred to your new Monster account, due to functional differences between HotJobs and Monster:
  • Resume Activity (details of employer views and applications for each of your resumes)
  • Saved Jobs
  • Personal URL
  • HotBlocked companies If you have prevented specific companies from viewing your resumes, those settings will not transfer. (Note that on Monster you will be able to make your resume searchable but confidential, so that recruiters cannot see your contact info or last employer)
  • Hidden Company Preferences
  • Twitter Alerts
I have accounts with BOTH HotJobs and Monster. What do I need to do now?
  • SAME EMAIL ADDRESS ON BOTH SITES: If your Monster account uses the same email address that is in your HotJobs Employment Profile, then your HotJobs account information will not be transferred to Monster. Once the integration of HotJobs and Monster is complete, you will no longer be able to access your HotJobs account information. The transition will occur in early 2011 and the exact date will be sent to the email address associated with your HotJobs account. Be sure that your Monster account is up to date so that you can continue your job search successfully on Monster.
  • DIFFERENT EMAIL ADDRESS ON EACH SITE: If your Monster account does not use the same email address as your HotJobs Employment Profile, then your current HotJobs account information will be transferred to a new Monster account, using your HotJobs Employment Profile email address. At that point, you will have two accounts on Monster.
When will my HotJobs account be integrated with Monster?

Your HotJobs account information can be automatically transferred to Monster in early 2011. Opt in today and we will transfer the information for you at that time. And, don't worry, we will transfer the latest information at the time of transfer so any updates you make to your profile and resume between now and the date of transfer will be saved.

We are committed to keeping you informed every step of the way. Once you have consented to transfer your HotJobs information, you will continue to receive the emails with details about the transfer, including notification of when the transfer will take place in early 2011.

We've also built in numerous safeguards for your information. If you already have a Monster account that uses the same email address, we won't overwrite it by transferring your HotJobs information. We will only transfer information if you don't have a Monster account or if your Monster account uses a different email address. Our goal is to make this transition as easy as possible for you.

What happens to my HotJobs information if I don’t allow it to be transferred to Monster?
If you choose not to transfer your HotJobs account information to Monster, then after the final transition to Monster occurs (in early 2011), your HotJobs account information will no longer be available.
